Hey there. Quick question. I’ve been in Thailand since October 2019 with a TR, extended 1 month in December, then I’ve been to Vientiane and get a second TR that I will extend next week. Can I go to Vietnam after that, fly directly to Da Nang from CM, spend 5 days and come back with a 30 exemption ? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about traveling from Thailand to Vietnam and returning with a 30-day visa exemption, considering their previous stays and visa extensions. Responses indicated that while it is legally possible, entry back into Thailand may depend on the immigration officer's discretion. It was suggested that entering by land could reduce the risk of complications.

Go to the Mae Sai - Tachiliek border, stamp out of thailand, pay 500 baht to the burmese, stamp in and out of burma turn around and stamp right back into thailand.

Keep in mind
@Pie***
you can get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year AND you can get a 30 day extension on each entry once as well at the immigration office for 1900baht.

Good Luck (y)

legally you can, BUT the real question is will you skate thru passport control without being pulled aside, questioned, asked for the 3-proof-ofz and/or denied entry.

No one can tell you that with any degree of certainty and it's gonna come down to the immigration officer you're standing in front of when you stamp in.

I'd say you run a far LESS risk of being questioned by just bouncing out and back in by land to get a 30 day visa exempt entry. If you pick the correct border you won't have any issues doing that.

I thought you was legally authorised to come 3 times per calendar year by flight ?

So maybe Myanmar border would be a better option ?
