Hello everyone!

I’m Russian passport holder and I’m in Thailand almost for half an year. First I had 3 month working visa, then 30 days stamp from Cambodia and after I got 3 montg tourist visa in Laos (Savanakhet). In the end of the next month I have to get new visa.

Do you think will it be fine if I’ll make a visa run to Cambodia or go to Laos and get one more tourist visa or will I have problems with that?

I’ll be very appreciated to receive your advice regarding what’s better in my case. Thank you in advance 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Russian passport holder currently in Thailand is seeking advice on whether to do a visa run to Cambodia or Laos to obtain a new tourist visa before their current visa expires. The community responses highlight the potential difficulties of relying on tourist visas for extended stays, recommend avoiding certain border crossings like Poi Pet due to their reputation, and suggest being prepared with cash and proof of accommodation when re-entering Thailand. Overall, there's a strong emphasis on ensuring the correct type of visa is obtained to avoid complications.

Cambodian border at Ban Laem or Ban Pakkard OK for stamp Russian 30days. Avoid POI PET.

Oli needs to be prepared if asked at his entry by Thai Immigration...Have 20,000 Thai baht in CASH, proof of your planned booking address in Thailand plus a TICKET OUT of Thailand.

Oli its obvious you are concerned as you are living in Thailand using various visas with extensions, and exempt entries with extensions.

As has been said, its important you get the correct visa for your planned stay in Thailand.

I share with you a young lady who days ago was denied entry...

First, we're not immigration officers, and we can't decide if you'll get in or not.

However... if you're planning on getting a 30 day bilateral agreement stamp, I highly recommend avoiding Poi Pet, you have to spend 24 hours there, and it's extremely sketchy.

I also believe you should look into getting a visa that meets your needs. The Thai government is making it extremely difficult for people to live here on tourist visas and visa exempts, and the more tourist visas you have, the more likely you'll get rejected.
