Good morning, I arrived Thailand 1 week ago with a 60 day Tourist visa. I would like to extend my visa for an additional 30 days. Then hopefully I can go out of Vietnam to a Thai Embassy and get another 60 day Tourist visa and return. Will I have a problem with a quick return to Thailand ? I have not been back to Thailand for 2 years so I am not making lots of back to back visa runs. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is currently in Thailand on a 60-day Tourist Visa and wishes to extend it for 30 days. They are planning to travel to a Thai Embassy in Vietnam to apply for another 60-day Tourist Visa before returning to Thailand. Concerns about potential issues re-entering Thailand after a short trip are raised, with advice from community members emphasizing the importance of carrying proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation when crossing borders. Overall, the consensus suggests that there should not be significant problems with re-entry based on their history.

given your entry history you are highly unlikely to have ANY problem entering the country. You have not been living here for a long time on back-2-back visa exempt or tourist visa entries.

have the proof of funds, proof of onward travel and proof of a hotel booking in case you're asked when you stamp into the country and you'll be fine,

I would like to go to Myanmar Thai Embassy to try to get a new 60 day Tourist visa and spend a week seeing the sights in Myanmar. I have read that the Thai embassy there is quite nice and friendly. Do you know if that is so ? Thank you.

Yangon is a fine consulate to deal with, just meet the requirements on the website and remember they only take US dollars at that consulate :)

AND you'll probably need to buy a visa for Myanmar before you go too :)

Yes I mistakenly said Vietnam. I want to go to Myanmar to try to get a new 60 day Thai Tourist visa at the Thai Embassy there. Sorry for this confusion.

Umm, you just said you want to go get a single entry tourist visa in Vietnam didn't you? :O

The thai consulate in Yangon is NOT a busy consulate. As long as you meet the requirements on the website you will be fine.

You shouldn't have a problem getting a 30 day extension at the immigration office in your area for 1900baht

AND

If you meet the financial requirements you shouldn't have a problem getting a tourist visa from a thai consulate in Vietnam. Keep in mind those consulates require proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in a bank account) AND proof of onward travel (in 60 - 90 days)

Now as far as if you'll have problems stamping in, that's anyone's guess. It comes down to your previous entry history and the mood of the officer you get when you stamp in

Sorry, but we can not predict what an Immigration Officer at a check point will decide somewhere in the future. Be prepared with the 20.000Thb or equivalent currency in cash, proof of onward travel and proof of accommodation. Good luck.
