Good morning guys and thanks for the add. I am coming over on 26th April and returning to the UK on 24th June (60 days) Rather than apply for a 60 day visa, would it be acceptable to Thai immigration if I book a flight to spend a few days in Vietnam in the middle of my holiday so that both parts of my stay in Thailand are less than the 30 days allowed for the normal tourist stay? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is planning to visit Thailand from April 26 to June 24, considering a flight to Vietnam to ensure both segments of their stay in Thailand are under 30 days for visa exemption. Commenters suggest that rather than leaving Thailand, the user can simply extend their 30-day visa-exempt entry for another 30 days at an immigration office, saving the trouble of a border run.
Why don't you want to get a visa, it's a fairly simple online process and you get it back by email? Saves all the trouble you're planning for yourself.

as James said, no need to plan a trip out of the country (unless you're wanting to go), you just go to the immigration office in your area and apply for a 30 day regular extension that you are allowed to get from a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp ๐
Thanks James. My worry is that my flight is already booked to return after 60 days and I heard that immigration could refuse me entry via the 30 day visa exempt unless I prove that I plan to leave Thailand at some point before the end of the 30 days.
Book a cheap one way flight to Cambodia in 30.days ...toss it or cancel it if booked on refundable site ...there are ways to do that and as its not a Thai visa advice question....you can research how. Google is your friend.
