How long before my visa expires should I apply for an extension in Thailand?

Entered Thailand on a single non immigrant b visa (+my wife and kid on single non immigrant o visa). Now my work permit got issued ✅ all our current visa will expire on 6th June 2020. How long before should we start the visa extension progress with immigration? In my understanding we will first get one month and afterwards one year extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Thailand, you should start the visa extension process when you have 30 days or less left on your current visa. After applying for the extension with the required documentation from your employer, you will typically receive a 30-day under consideration stamp, followed by a one-year extension later on. This process also applies to your wife and child, as long as you provide the necessary documentation for their extensions.

As a rule they will give you a 30 day under consideration stamp for your extension based on employment and then you will go back after that to get the year inked in. AND they should do the same things for your wife and child too BUT make sure you have the required documentation showing your married AND from your company to apply for extensions for them when they are "piggy-backing" onto your extension.

As long as you have your documentation from your employer you should be able to go apply for the extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current 90 day entry stamp.
