how long before it expires should I go back to immigration for an extension?
Should I bring the same documents as the first time and bring my wife along with me?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you have received a 3-month non-O visa for a spouse, it is generally recommended to apply for an extension 30 to 45 days before your visa expires, depending on the immigration office requirements. You should bring the same documents as your initial application, ensuring that your bank documents are updated, and have your wife accompany you during the process.

in Bangkok you can apply for the 1-year extension from up to 45 days before expiry of the 90-days stay permit from the visa. Beware: if you use the deposit method as financial proof, the bank letter must prove that a minimum of 400.000.- THB has been sitting in a bank account in your sole name, for a minimum of 2 months, on the day of application
Thank you for the answer, they never told me that when I was there (Immigration in Bangkok) I assumed it’s only an extension so it shouldn’t be that long before. If you’re correct I’m in a pickle here.
