When/How early can you apply for your first extension of stay? Is there a time window? Right now I entered Thailand on a Non-immigrant B (employment) and received the 90 day stamp, work permit is also issued.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for your first extension of stay on a Non-immigrant B visa when your current stamp is approaching expiration. Most immigration offices allow applications for a 1-year extension when you have 30 days or less remaining on your current stamp. However, some offices, like those in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, permit applications when you have as much as 45 days left.
Check with your local immigration office as that policy varies depending on the office. Most offices accept a 1-year extension application when your current stamp is 30 days or less. Some offices including Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket, let you apply for an extension when you have 45 days or less.
