TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your visa any time before your 60-day stamp expires. It's advisable to apply at least a few days in advance or ideally around 7 to 14 days before expiration for better convenience. If you are on a Visa on Arrival (VOA), you will likely receive a 30-day extension from the day you apply, so it's a good practice to apply the day before your stamp expires to avoid any unforeseen issues.

Go a few days before and they'll give you 30 days from the end date.

At least two weeks before expiry is good deal

With VOA you would most likely get 30 days extension from a day when you go there.
So, if you want as many days as possible - go there the day before your date on the stamp or at the last day as your stamp is showing.
I prefer going one day before the date on the stamp, because anything may happen last day (unexpected situation which wouldn't allow you to be there on time, unexpected to you out of office day or so...).
not correct, never leave an extension that late (and VOA cannot be extended, you mean Visa Exempt). An extension is added to your current exit date if it is for the same reason as your entry stamp.
I checked and I assumed that extension is granted for 30 days since day when you visited immigration office to extend your stay. Not 30 days from the stamp date. Hearing the same from other people, that's why I am surprised to see you telling me something else.
it extends your current stay so it is added, why can you get the extension from 30 days out if it is not added to your current stay, you'd end up with the same date?
real life of many people shows different result. You can try proving that immigration officers made a mistake. I understand your point, but without actual proof I doubt who is right here. My personal experience is telling me something else than you are explaining.
No, thereās no extension available for the VOA, but if you try to apply for an extension youāll get the general "Extension denied" stamp and 7 days to leave the country the same way as if you try to apply for a second extension on a visa exemption or tourist visa.
Most people understand, but in fact it makes a huge difference. If you check at the airport next time youāll see thereās a whole gate and special immigration only for visa on arrival upon entry.š
You can extend it any time before your 60 day stamp expires. I extended mine today for 30 days and I have 6 days left on my old stamp. It gets extended from the stamp end date, regardless of when you do it.
