Just arrived with a 60 day single entry tourist visa. Can I go and get a 30 day extension anytime or does it have to be near the end of my 60 day.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a 30-day extension of your 60-day single-entry tourist visa, but it must be done within the timeframe set by local immigration offices. Generally, you can apply for the extension within 30 days before your visa expires. However, some immigration offices may allow extensions to be requested as early as 45 days or even as late as 15 days prior to the expiration.

Depend on your local immigration office. Some allows you to apply 45 days prior, some (or most) 30days, but a few give you 15days prior.

unless you're in Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Phuket when its 45 days or less left on your stamp OR if you're in Pattaya when it's 15 days or less left on your stamp :/

It's not a uniform policy
