How many days in advance to I need to go to extend my 60 day tourist visa entry for the additional 30 day stamped in? My current 60 days ends 28 March. Can I go any day before? I’m in Chiang Mai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
In Chiang Mai, you can apply to extend your 60-day tourist visa during the last 45 days of your stay. This means you can visit the immigration office any working day between now and your visa expiry on 28 March. It's recommended not to wait until the last moment to secure your extension, as early applications do not affect the validity of your stay.

I would never wait untill the last days. You never know what happens. Better have the extension secured.

Going early does not mean you lose days. The added 30 days extension are added to your 60 days.

In Chang Mai you can go during the last 45 days of your stay. So any working day between today and 28 March.
