I’ve got my 60 day visa which was stamped on the 3rd July when we entered Thailand. Just wondering if I’m best to go get my extension a few days before it runs out? And do they renew from the day your visa runs out or from the day you go and get your extension? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The best time to apply for an extension on your 60-day tourist visa in Thailand is anytime from 30 days before your visa expiration date. Your extension will be valid until a new 'Admitted Until' date, which is based on the day of your extension application, not the expiration of the current visa. Thus, it doesn't matter if you apply a day or several days before your visa runs out; the extended validity will commence from the original expiration date.

My 60 day tourist visa was stamped for me to leave by the 16th of August and I did my extension today. Im now allowed to stay in the Kingdom until 15 September.

It is not 1 month but 30 days so it depends on the number of dayss in then month of your arrival.
Lawrence ******
It’s all in the timing of your arrival. 🤣

Not happens much that the Valid until date on the visa is exact the same as the stamp Admitted until date.

Nope, The last day on your used visa is just a nice memory in your passport. You can apply 30 days before the date in the new stamp with the text Admitted Until, your 30 days will be added to this Admitted until date.

Doesn’t matter if you go a day before or 15 days before, it’ll extend on the last day of your tourist visa

, that is not correct. The extension is NOT added to the date of the VISA :O It is added to the expiration date of the "admitted until" stamp you get when you enter the country ON the visa.

It's extended from your last day. You can go before it expires.

Unproductive comment: you crossed out your last name on the visa but it is visible on your FB
