Hello! We entered Thailand with the 30 days stamp (so no visa) and we are going to apply for the first 30 day extension.

I've seen other posts saying immigration will turn you away if you come to early, and I wasn't sure if that was for everyone or for those applying for the extension with a letter from their embassy.

Should we wait to apply for the extension a day or two before our 30 days are up?

Thank you in advance!

Answer summary

A user inquired about the appropriate timing to apply for a 30-day extension after entering Thailand on a 30-day stamp. There was concern about potentially being turned away for applying too early. Responses from the community confirmed that most immigration offices allow applications for extensions 1-2 days prior to the expiration of the stamp. It's noted that processing may vary by location.

Many offices will process 30 day extensions one to two days before your current ending date....

Because they are very busy at this time.
