Hello, this should be an easy question (maybe...)
How early before my current extension expires can I apply for a new one?
I have a non-o Thai wife visa extension expiring on mid november and I intend to travel abroad around october / november, so I am wondering if perhaps I could do the visa extension a bit earlier than one month before expiration, like 45 days or so?
Doing the calculation considering the one month process before the final stamp, getting the extension earlier (like late September) seems to be the option that fits my travel plans better but I am not sure if there is a rule about it or not. (Bangkok immigration)
In case I didn't explain correctly, here's a summary of my situation and my tentative plan:
- extension of stay valid until 14 november
- want to travel abroad from 28 oct to 28 nov
- want to apply for visa ext on 20ish sept, so pickup date should be around 20 october
- is it too early?
Thank you in advance 🙏
TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking clarification on how early they can apply for a visa extension for their non-O (Thai spouse) visa before it expires in mid-November, considering their travel plans in late October. According to a comment, applicants in Bangkok can submit an extension request when they have 45 days or less remaining on their current visa, meaning the earliest they could apply would be after September 30. Additionally, immigration typically offers a 21-day under consideration stamp during the process, which fits within their travel timeframe.
