Can i get clarification of when I can apply for a 12 month extention of my Non-O visa.

It was issued on 28th November and currently expires on 25th February. Am I correct in thinking I can apply for the extention 30 days before it expires which in my case would be from 26th January onwards.

Many thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) inquired about the appropriate timeframe to apply for a 12-month extension of their Non-O visa, which expires on February 25. They noted the issuance date was November 28 and sought clarification on whether they could apply 30 days prior, starting from January 26. Commenters advised that typically, applications for extensions can be submitted 30 to 45 days before the visa expiration, but it is recommended to verify with the local Thai Immigration office for specific rules that may apply.

ASK your Thai Immigration office where you are living and have a TM30 address registration on file.

Some offices will accept your application for the One year extension of stay for your Non O based visa between 30 and 45 days in advance of your current ending date.

You did not say which Thai Immigration office you will be using.

Tod Daniels replied:

In Chiang Mai you can apply for a yearly extension of stay when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp.

They are issued the same day you apply for them, the year extension is 1900baht, and then after they stamp that into your passport you'd buy the re-entry permit (single re-entry 1000baht, multiple re-entry 3800baht)

please Report back. BUT I believe that the Chiang Mai Thai Immigration office accepts the extension APPLICATION WITHIN 45 days from your current ending date.
