Happy Friday everyone 🎉🎊

My husband came to Thailand with a Non-Immigrant O visa based on marriage and he applied for 1 year extension of stay based on married to a Thai national . We went to the immigration yesterday and got the extension. So he will have to report to the immigration every 90 days.

Our immigration is at Pathumthani immigration.

My question is on his visa page it says “valid from March 6, 2018 and Valid until March 5 2019, will his visa expires before that ends?

does he need to renew visa? Or is extension enough?’ Because the officer said next year we have to submit the paper work for the extension of stay again.

Thank you very much for your help ka 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the validity and renewal process of their husband's Non-Immigrant O visa, which he holds based on marriage to a Thai national. They recently received a one-year extension of stay after applying at Pathumthani immigration. The user seeks clarification on whether the original visa expiration date impacts their situation and what steps are needed for future extension applications.

I do this same thing every year. 30 days before this one expires you do the same thing all over again. They will stamp his passport saying it's under consideration. Then they will stamp it again with the extension. So two stamps every time. Also remember to greet a reentry permit if he plans to go out of country.

Totally FORGET the visa now, (it has no bearing on you being here anymore) you used it to get a yearly extension of stay from the immigration office and that extension is good until the 18th of June 2018. It's the extension of stay that lets you be here now.

Keep in mind IF you need to leave the country and come back you WILL need a re-entry permit to get stamped back in until the 18th of June 2019 when you return. If you don't intend to leave you don't need one.

Okay, there are a couple things going on right now.

First the visa that you got was one that was good for 90 days at a time (then you would have went to the border, stamped out of thailand, stamped in&out of another country, and back into thailand to get another 90 day stamp). You would have done that for the whole year the visa was valid for.

There was NO need to go get a yearly extension at the immigration office while that visa was still valid.

That yellow date means he could get another 90 days extension upon the expiration of main visa dated until March 05,2019, now if u want to renew another one year,u dont need to extend it prior to the circled yellow date,u can apply for another one year before it expire on 5th of March 2019

To apply for your visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national, you need to prepare and submit the following:

Application form T.M. 7

1 photograph (4x6cm)

Copy of passport, especially Non-Immigrant visa and TM6 arrival/departure card

Visa extension fee 1900 THB

Copy of your marriage certificate (if married in another country, a letter of evidence is required from your embassy as well)

Copy of Kor Ror 2 (marriage registration or long tabian) from amphoe office, dated not older than 6 months from issue of copy

Children’s birth certificates (if applicable)

Copy of spouse’s house registration

Copy of spouse’s identity card

Proof of combined income of 40,000THB or over for the previous 3 months (income tax records PDN1. forms, pension documentation, proof of income through investments, work permit, etc.

Outside of Bangkok, it is often require to prepare 2 COPIES of every required document and photos. Ensure that all copies are signed in ink prior to submittal. This list is what most Immigration offices ask for, however officials are able to ask for further proof of the marriage at their discretion. Therefore, the following should also be prepared in case they are requested:

Map to your home in Thailand

Picture of your house and yourself with family, both inside and outside showing the house number

He is allowed to stay inside Thailand til 18 Jun 2019, if he stays longer than 90 days he has to do the 90 day report at Immigration.
Alex *********
You need to apply every year for an extension and supply all documents again

He got a new big stamp in his passport with the second line: Extension of Stay is permitted up to date stamp. Every year he goes 30 days before that date to Immigration and apply for a new Extension of Stay for 1 year. Be aware that if he like to travel abroad he need a re-entry permit to keep this Extension of Stay alive.

wowww thank you very much for this information sir! I appreciated your help🙏🙏🙏

You do 90 days reports if you stay longer than 90 days inside the country, so next one for him will be 15 days before or till 7 days later than 10 Oct 2018 and he will get a new date to report. His Extension of stay is valid till 18 Jun 2018 and he has to apply for a New Extension of Stay before this one expires and can be done 30 days before 18 Jun 2018.
