How do I manage my Non-B visa and work permit while applying for a new visa in Thailand?

I'm leaving to apply with a valid Non B and valid work permit with a re-entry permit as if my application is denied I still have these credentials to fall back on. Does anybody know how this will work coming back with 2 visas please? Or should I cancel the visa and work permit before I come back to Thailand if the visa application is approved?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the appropriate steps to take when applying for a new visa while holding a valid Non-B visa and work permit in Thailand. It highlights the need to possibly cancel the work permit before applying for a new visa (DTV) to avoid complications, as holding multiple visas may create issues upon re-entry.

When will you stop working in Thailand? I assume you are on an extension of stay? You can't work in Thailand on a DTV at all but if you're on an extension rather than a visa I believe you can apply for one then cancel it and your work permit the moment you return but I'm unsure how a re-entry permit affects things

no I'm on a non B not any extension. If you don't have a re-entry then the work visa is cancelled as soon as you leave the country. If I get approved and can cancel the current one on return then that's fine

Anonymous participant if you are on an actual non-b rather than an extension of stay i don't think you will be able to apply for the DTV

That was the crux of the question really. It may be best to cancel it all before I leave. From what I've learnt I'm overqualified for it anyway and it shouldn't be a problem. I just wanted to keep the Non B alive in case my application was rejected. Thanks all for the input

Actually, you should cancel work permit(Non-B visa) before apply DTV. it’s not make sense if you apply DTV and still have Non-B

Anonymous participant 681 that's my point really. If my application is denied I'll lose my non B and stuck on a tourist visa
