Hi guys! Hope you can give me an advice.

I work in Thailand ( hold work permit and non B visa). I went to my home country and didn’t do re-entry visa (my non B visa is for single entry).

Yesterday I came back and got tourist 30 days visa. My work permit and valid until 1.2019.

Can I somehow solve this issue, or I should do everything from the begging (Non B visa and work permit)?

Thanks 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user had a non-B visa (single entry) and a work permit but did not secure a re-entry visa when leaving Thailand. Upon returning, they received a 30-day tourist visa. Their work permit is now complicated due to their entry on a tourist visa. Responses suggest that they can seek a new 90-day non-B visa under certain conditions, or they may need to apply for a new work permit altogether, as their current one may be deemed invalid due to their tourist entry.

I recommend you to apply new visa with current work-permit. After getting new non-b, you have to cancel your work-permit and apply new one. By the law, your work-permit is already expired because you entered country with tourist visa. Immigration officer and labour officer is very stick about this. You can't convert type of visa, extend visa and renew work-permit.

, Once you get the Non-B issued, take your passport and your work permit and go to the Ministry of Labour and show them what happened,

face it you're not the first person to have left the country without a re-entry permit and lost the visa.

Your current work-permit broke the condition, now you have to make it complete again. I got many case was rejected when they renewed their work-permit because they entered Thailand with on arrival visa or tourist visa. The officer have checked it back on their passport.

I understand, but it sounds a little strange for me. I should go to Labour Office with a valid work permit, ask then to cancel it and apply for exactly the same permit?

I recommend to do it, your new work-permit will be valid as your new visa without any doubts

so first I should change the visa back to non-b with the help of the work permit, then cancel it and apply for a new one?

Now you are holding work-permit, you have to enter Thailand with working visa only as non-b, non-o Thai spouse or Thai child, PR only. Date on booklet is valid but your last entry made it to be invalid.

I don’t understand. My work permit is valid until Jan 2019. Why should I cancel it and apply for a new one?

You should apply for a multi entry. I cannot remember the cost my company paid it, maybe 3-5k Baht

The O/P was still on her initial 90 day entry of the single entry Non-B she couldn't get her extension until she had 45 days or less left on the entry stamp from it.

yes, most companies (international and bigger companies), in my experience, get your extension of stay within 3 days of getting your work permit.

Umm, that is NOT a visa, you are on a yearly extension of stay, and you got a re-entry permit when you got it.

They O/P had a single entry 90 day Non-B and should have gotten a SINGLE entry re-entry permit before they left.

They did not, and now they are back at square one,

You canceled your 90 day Non-B when you left the country.

You didn't come in on a 30 day tourist visa because there is no such thing. You came in on a 30 day visa exempt entry.

IF your company can provide the documentation you can go to the immigration office in your area and apply for a 90 day Non-B visa BUT you need at least 15 days left on your current stamp to do so because it would go under consideration for 14 days before you went back to get the Non-B and the new 90 day stamp inked into your passport

OR

You take documentation from your company and you go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country to get a 90 day single entry Non-B again.

Sorry 😐

I just came back from immigration. They didn’t take my documents because I didn’t bring photo with the director 😅

Now looking for for the director to take a selfie and go back there

@Evgeni ********
, nope, the group has a NO agent referral or recommendation policy. You shouldn't need an agent because the company you work for should be giving you the documentation to go get a new Non-B

Thanks for the answer! My company can provide any document. I have 28 days left on my visa. But, if I make new non B, should I get a new work permit as well, or my work permit still valid?
