Do I need to cancel my multi-entry non-B visa if I cancel my work permit in Thailand?

Have a question. If you received a multi-entry non-b visa outside of Thailand, worked legally, but then cancelled that work permit do you have to cancel the visa? I read some old posts on Thaivisa saying you don't, and can stay as long as the stamp says in the passport. I was told yesterday I will have a problem leaving the country, even though I'll be leaving before the my stay has expired. Just a point out again, the visa is not an extension of stay granted in CM, it's a multi-entry from Penang. Thanks. The actual non-imm expired, but I left the country and was granted another 3 months stay.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether a cancelled work permit necessitates the cancellation of a multi-entry non-B visa. It was clarified that it is not required to cancel the visa upon termination of the work permit; the visa can remain valid as long as the entry stamp in the passport allows it. Multiple community members confirmed that only an extension of stay needs to be cancelled by immigration authorities, and that the general visa remains valid until its expiration or until the entry stamp permits. Some participants also expressed concerns over potential issues upon departure from Thailand.

Just got off off the phone with a service. They called immigration and you are correct, no problem leaving the country. Thanks for helping anyway. Now, where can i go for a cheap weekend away :)

I guess that is true. But i wondered if they'd ask me if I had cancelled the permit as obviously the visa is at an end.

No problem when leaving, as mentioned before only Extension of Stay has to be cancelled by Immigration. Not the Visa or admittedto stay period based on a Visa.

They never look at your work permit coming in and out, just visa

I did the last 90 days thing, so have used the visa for almost 15 months. Yes, I know I can't use it again. Will come back on visa exempt. Just wasn't sure if I will have a problem leaving.

Yes, but I am being told I will have a problem leaving. I did work on a work permit, but cancelled it last week. They are telling me I should have cancelled at immigration, although I am hearing that is not true.

Yes, I have although no used stamp. It's technically expired, but if you leave as I did before it expires you are given another 3 months.

If you're in Thailand on an actual Visa (page sized sticker) you can stay till admitted to stay stamp, as long as the visa is valid you can return before the entry before date. After that you need a new Visa or doing Visa Exempt Entry. Only an Extension of Stay (from local Immigration office) based on work needs to be cancelled. Picture is example of a Visa.
