Can I enter Thailand on a new DTV visa after having a Non-B visa with re-entry permission?

I have a current Non-B with re-entry. I left the country on this visa and then was approved for DTV while in Canada. When returning to Thailand, can I come back on the new DTV and cancel the other one once I arrive? Or do I need to return on the Non-B visa and then cancel, leave the country again, and return on the DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on whether they can enter Thailand using a newly approved DTV visa after previously holding a Non-B visa with re-entry. While some comments suggest that switching to the DTV upon entry might be possible, others point out issues regarding re-entry permits and the possibility of legal complications if the Non-B visa extension hasn't been properly managed.

Because they have a reentry permit, they will likely not be allowed to enter on DTV.

You cannot "switch" visas like that.

As the DTV is not activated, the nonb still is in effect with the reentry permit.

If the work permit is already canceled and you did not cancel the extension, then your reason to stay ended the day you stopped working, you may be subject to a hefty fine.

Should have canceled the extension before leaving Thailand.

I am curious to see how this works out.

I am in the exact same situation and I am entering Thailand in 3hours after my DTV was approved

Note that my work permit already expired, I just have the non-b valid until 15feb

I can let you know in few hours

Are you on a non B extension or the original visa? I'm guessing the extension. In that case you should be able to enter on the DTV and cancel the extension in country. You can't have two valid visas, but you can be on an extension and request a visa.
