I’m married to a Thai and have a son with her ! Both have dual passports ! I’m looking at moving over to Thailand October this year !

The multi-entry visa I believe will also work as long as you check in with the immigration office in the province you plan to live in.

that is not correct, on a year-long, multi-entry VISA <- that you get from a thai consulate before you come here the O/P would have to EXIT/RE-ENTER the country every 90 days (not just check in with the immigration office)

Okay, one thing for the O/P to understand

I specifically didn't recommend that he get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa from the thai consulate in his country BECAUSE after that first 90 day entry stamp he'd get in order to use that visa effectively (for the year it's valid) he'd have to exit/re-enter the country to get another 90 day stamp.

NOW with that being said AND given the fact that the O/P is doing this iin another 6 months; the entry requirements to thailand and other countries might be different then.

That might make the year-long, multi-entry non-O the way to go (as long as the O/P knows he has to exit/re-enter every 90 days for the validity of the visa to keep staying on it).

Or you could get a 90 day based on your Thai child and then get 12 month's extensions based on that. The 400k then only needs to be in the bank at time of application, no 2 months seasoning required

if you're married to a thai many offices won't let you get the raising thai children extension which is why I gave him the "worst case" scenario of needing the 400K baht in the bank for 2 months for the marriage extension. Last thing I wanna do is tell him he doesn't need the funds seasoned only to find out his office won't let him get a raising children extension when he's married to thai 😉

r any way you do it, get the 90 day Non-O visa before you come and then go to your immigration office and see if they will let you do the year based on raising thai children rather than marriage to a thai. IF they will Stuart is correct you wouldn't need the 400K baht in the account for 2 months before you apply

The fact they have dual passports is totally irrelevant to anything to do with your visa requirements

You could get a 90 day single entry Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai from the thai consulate in your country before you come here. That would stamp you in for 90 days when you arrive, then you'd bank 400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months and go apply for a year extension based on marriage to a thai at the immigration office.

That gets you a year extension based on marriage and you'd do that every year over and over as long as you want to

our marriage certificate has been legalised by uk gov and also we have had it translated into Thai ! So that’s sorted

IF they were married in the UK they need to get their marriage certificate certified at the office in Milton Keynes and then stamped by the thai embassy in london BEFORE they wing their way here, because there's no way to certify a marriage certificate of a foreigner/thai married in the UK without sending it back there. The UK embassy here doesn't do it any more

I took that picture from one of the translation shops here in thailand that says how it is done
