TLDR : Answer Summary
To stay in Thailand for 90 days as a foreign spouse of a Thai citizen, consider applying for a Non-Immigrant O visa, which grants an initial 90 days upon entry. You can also enter visa-exempt for 30 days and apply for a 60-day family visit extension, totaling 90 days. If you plan to extend your stay longer, ensure your marriage certificate is stamped by the Thai embassy if married in the UK. Make sure to inquire about the current situation for visa applications in Bangkok.

I believe your wife might be confused 😕 There is NO 60 day VISA you can get inside the country. 😮

What is going on until Aug 24th is the 60 day covid extension program.

As I said come in on a free 30 day visa exempt entry OR a 60 day tourist visa that you buy from the thai consulate before you come then take your 30 day regular extension and after that go apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension.

And just to not forget the option of the Non Immigrant O visa based on being married with a Thai National which gives you 90 days on entry, so no troubles and time wasted at Immigration. Benefit is if plans change you can still apply for the 60 days Extension of Stay based on visit family or even on the 1 year Extension of Stay.

Be flexible with all the options. Safe travels

this is how I always enter Thailand fairly simple application process and you don't need to post your passport anymore just a heads-up to the OP the financial requirements of £10k is incorrect it's actually £1k the former is for multiple entries also the insurance is no longer required despite it asking for it just screenshot the banner on the landing page

Family visit extension of stay 60 days applied in Thailand at your local Thai immigration office. 1,900 Thai baht fee.

two easy ways to get 90 days

1 - come in on a visa exempt entry <- meaning just show up here on a free 30 day stamp, then apply for a 60 day visit thai family extension

2 - get a single entry tourist visa from the thai consulate in your country before you come here, get stamped in for 60 days, then extend that once by 30 days

if you are going to use the "visit thai family" extension and you were married in the UK you need to get the marriage certificate stamped by the thai embassy in London. If you were married in thailand you don't
