I would like to visit during the winter or ‘24/‘25. Thailand allows 2 months only. How can I stay another 3 months?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to extend their stay in Thailand beyond the typical 2-month allowance for tourists. Some commenters clarify that the 2-month duration is a misconception, and suggest that by obtaining a single entry Tourist Visa for 60 days, extending it for an additional 30 days, and then re-entering Thailand through a border bounce while utilizing Visa Exempt entry, the user could effectively stay for about 5 months with proper planning.

Get a single entry Tourist Visa (60 days) and extend it (30 days) then do a border bounce and re-enter Visa Exempt (30 days) and extend that too (30 days). There's your 5 months give or take a few days.

Is it that simple? I’m 77 yo. Any complications due to my age? Insurance?

it’s that simple. No other requirements. You have to exit the country once in that time for the border bounce

No mandatory health insurance unless you apply for a one year Non O-A visa.

Only 2 Visa Exempt entries per calendar year are allowed by land.

Seems like I am misinformed. Can you advise on how to stay for 5 months.

get a tourist visa in your home country for 60 days, extend it to 90, then go to a neighboring country to either apply for a new tourist visa or to enter visa exempt and extend that one too. It'll be a few days short of 5 months; if you need a few more days you could get that second tourist visa and then extend that one too.

First of all where do you get the idea that Thailand only allows 2 months because that's not true at all.

your options depend on your age, if you have Thai family and many other things. You haven't given any details to answer your question.

You can purchase a tourist visa before you travel and receive 60 days when you arrive. You can apply for a 30 day extension.

Then do a border bounce by leaving and returning and get a visa exempt 30 day stamp and apply for a 30 day extension. That's 5 months.
