I am going to be in Thailand 12 days longer than my 90 day visa permits. Is there any way short of leaving the country that I can get a 12 day extension added to my 90 day visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about extending their stay in Thailand for an additional 12 days beyond the allowed duration of their 90-day visa. Responses indicate that, generally, there are limited options for extending a visa without leaving the country. It is noted that a tourist visa typically allows for a 60-day stamp upon entry, which can be extended for an additional 30 days at an immigration office, but an extension beyond that is usually not possible without exiting Thailand. Participants in the conversation mention potential options like a 7-day extension or performing a border run to obtain a new entry stamp.

I'm looking at my visa stamp now and I see that when I went to immigration to extend my visa for the last 30 days, which I was told I'd have to do when I entered the country, that the red stamp says I can stay until 2 March, which is a few days more than I needed. I'm confused because my 90 visa was issued on Nov. 15th. Is it possible I actually got 90 days from when I entered and not 90 days from when I applied for the visa?

When you BOUGHT the visa you had 90 days to ENTER thailand, when you entered you were stamped in for 60 days, when you extended it they ADDED 30 days to the expiration date you had.

You don't have a 90 day visa! U have a 60 day visa and I assume a 30 day extension of stay

No, when I entered the country I had a 90 day visa but was told I had to go to immigration at 60 days to extend it to 90.

Tony Dadson I wonder if he has extended the 30 days already ? And what his permission to stay is stamped in his passport ?

Okay You did NOT get stamped into the country for 90 days on a tourist visa. A tourist visa is VALID for 90 days from the date you got it <- meaning you have that long to ENTER thailand when you'll get stamped in for 60 days. You can extend that 60 days by 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900baht (that would give you almost 90 days) BUT there is NO extension available after that. There is a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives you a week to get out of the country for 1900baht

Depending on your nationality; I would suggest you just go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in&out of another country then stamp back into thailand <- which would give you a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp. Then you're here for the time you need to be.

@Ken ******
You didn't get stamped in for 90 days on a TOURIST visa you got stamped in for 60 days. :OYou can extend the 60 days by 30 more for 1900baht at the immigration office. After that there is no extension available

The category is TR. I got the visa just to come to Thailand for 3 months to visit the country. Nothing else.

What does it say ON your visa. Non-Immigrant Type "what" and what was the reason you got the visa in the first place?
