TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Thai birth certificate for your daughter born in the UK to a Thai mother, you need to visit the Royal Thai Embassy in London. Ensure you have all required documents including your daughter’s UK birth certificate, Thai mother's passport, and marriage certificate if applicable. You will likely complete necessary forms at the embassy, although sample forms may not be accessible online. It’s recommended to contact the embassy directly for guidance and assistance, particularly regarding the forms.

I have done this for my kids. Born in UK but have Thai father, i contacted the Embassy and made an appointment. It was very easy.
yes, and we took photocopies of their birth certificates, my husbands thai ID, thai driving license and thai passport. Aswell as our marriage certificate and my uk passport. We werent married when our first was born so we had to provide a dna test to prove she was my husbands daughter. About 3 hours at the embassy and got it all done
You both have to attend the Royal Thai Embassy in London , best guess is you fill in the application forms there and provide ALL documents at the same time
Will, I will have all the documents its just those forms that concern me. I live in Liverpool, 200 miles from London so I do not want to have to do the trip more than once. 😊
Will. Thank you very much for this information. I appreciate it very much.

I have been on the London website and it asks for various documents which we have, but also requires completion of some forms which although it highlights as samples, but which I could not open.
Give the Thai Embassy in London a call. They accept calls from 2pm onwards. You could also send them an email.

I believe you have to register her birth in the UK if she is born there. She can't be born in two places. Once you've done that you can apply to the Thai embassy in London for a Thai certificate.
unfortunately your mistaken in due respect. My child was born in the UK with a Thai mother. When we were ready to come 2 years later. We got in contact with the Royal Thai Embassy and explained we were returning. We did need to actually visit the Embassy all three of us. I'm a UK citizen so I had to bring my UK Passport plus copies. My wife had to bring Thai Passport and Thai ID plus copies. We at to bring Anna's UK birthday certificate, two photos and copies of UK BC . The Embassy team were so helpful. Within working ten days the Thai Birth Certificate arrived from Bangkok. The Embassy also gave her an emergency Thai Passport so she could enter Thailand with any Visa issues.
When we arrived in Thailand we registered her on my wife's blue book and town hall. Next year she is 7 so we must take her back to the town hall for her Thai ID.
Blessed bilingual daughter English and Thai with dual passports.
No, Pirada did it all for us. We were relocating back to Thailand when the Wuhan kicked in. She got us a repatriation flight and an emergency passport and Thai Birth Certificate for Anna. So, she entered Thailand has a full citizen.
On arrival we went to Ban Chang, Rayong. Town Hall they registered Anna on my wife's Blue House book. She is 7 next year so she then gets her Thai ID.
If you email Pirada she will send you all the details. Seriously this was painless. Even at the Embassy because Anna was 2. She got VIP service. No waiting everybody dropped everything for Anna.
Totally different experience to the British Embassy BKK which is not fit for purpose.
Because of the help Pirada gave us. This meant also when we arrived and the schools reopened. Anna got accepted straight away into a Thai Technical Primary School. In her second year now and loves the school. So pleased we made the move.
John. She has a UK birth certificate. I am indeed going to apply to the London Thai embassy for a Thai certificate.
I have all the relevant documents they require. I will get her UK birth certificate legalised.
My only outstanding issue is the forms which it appears have also to be completed. They embassy site mentions a 'sample form' but when pressing the link, no sample form appears.
I am asking if anyone has a copy of these forms and whether the forms are completed when we go to the embassy??

Wait if she wasn't born in Thailand then she wouldn't have one. Do you mean you want to get her citizenship?
my understanding is that this group is to ask for guidance from people who have went through similar situations that you are currently dealing with. When you get caustic condescending responses (like above) just block that user. That's what I do. In doing so you will slowly weed out the d*ck-heads and no longer be forced interact with them. Good luck with your quest for answers. 👍
For hospital births, which represent over 99% of births in the country, the hospital does the registration.
Even if you do a home birth (extremely rare in Thailand) I think you have to have the baby checked by a pediatrician within a couple of days of birth who then signs the paperwork for the birth certificate.
, yes, the primary registration happens at the hospital. But you will get the birth certificate at the Amphur office. Basically, I think most countries are like that today. In the past, it was the Church in many countries. You have to be aware that a birth certificate actually has several important pieces of information. Place and time of birth, name of the mother, name of the father, and not least the name of the new citizen. Especially for the naming, the Church was a major player in the past.
from my experiences with Thai Embassy overseas dealing with Thai nationals, is a world better than what us Brits face overseas from our own Embassy / Consulate. Even getting a passport inside Thailand requires a trip to BKK to apply (unless an agent is involved )
, then why are you asking for a Thai Birth Certificate that she obviously cannot get as such. She can get her British Birth Certificate legalized and registered in Thailand, if this is needed?
my 2 sons were born in Thailand i registered them both in the uk from Thailand and got British birth certificates so why can't JF James do the opposite way
