My daughters are Thai/US, born in US and have Thai passport and citizenship from the Thai embassy in Chicago and got their Thai ID cards in the Amphoe. Easier if you can write in Thai.

I just gotten my daughter a Thai ID by applied at the Royal Thai Consulate in the US. She was born in America mother Thai citizen & father an American. She applied for a Thai Birth Certificate in her birth country. When she received her birth certificate, it came with the Thai ID number.

ok great thanks! Iโ€™m actually a lot older ๐Ÿ˜…

Do you happen to know that once I get my id number on my birth certificate I can get an id from Australian consulate or will I have to still go to Thailand and actually go in as it would be my first Thai id card

My daughter is also much older being 36 years of age. My understanding is to get a Thai ID, she would need to have a Thai residence- which involves me getting my daughter name onto my "House Registration" book.

The Thai government is the one who can help you. Contact your Thai embassy and see if they can do it, otherwise you'll have to travel to Thailand to do it.
