Is there anyone here who applied for a one year NON O visa based on having a thai child and immigration did not ask for proof of income or 400,000 baht in their bank?? Someone told me immigration didn’t ask for any income requirements and gave them the visa. obviously it varies by offices and people. I just want to know if this has happened to more people?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires if any expats have successfully applied for a one year NON O visa without being asked for proof of income or a bank deposit of 400,000 baht, specifically based on having a Thai child. Several comments express skepticism about the possibility of bypassing the income requirements, suggest adhering to official immigration guidelines, and recommend checking directly with Thai Immigration or embassies for accurate information. Some humorous comments hint at possible loopholes or unorthodox practices.

You can only get around it by paying an agent to deposit the 400k in your Thai bank account for 10 minutes

They probably had a loophole somewhere, and possibly bribed their way through.

Check with Thai Immigration. If you’re not in Thailand, check your Thai Embassy or General Consulate website. It is the most accurate.

The OP is talking about the one year extension (not Non-O visa) as there is no longer a 12 month Non-O available anywhere anymore.

thanks for clearing that. We are applying for a non OA visa from the US. Last time I talked to our General Consulate was to apply e-visa through the immigration website and upload documents. When did they announce that there is no longer a Non-O visa?

all Non-O visas are now 90 days single entry, the one year multi-entry Non-Os have been discontinued

Rejecting a dependent child visa is inhumane.

if you cannot support yourself, they don't need you in Thailand pretending you can also support a child

are you trying to be sarcastic? Because you just answered your own question. Obviously a 90 day visa you don’t need to show income which is why I specified the one year non o visa… do i need to change my question to: “is there anyone here who applied for a one year non o visa extension?” for you to sleep better at night ?? Because obviously you need the 90 days first in order to even get the one year.

SunnyPhoenix2325 you stated a one year non O visa. So you shoot me down. There is no such thing.

So a non 0 visa is for 90 days and the extension is for one year. Combined they are not equal to one year.

Change the question.

The biggest problem this site is the use of non standard terms.

you knew exactly what he meant. The biggest problem is people trying to score points over terminology instead of helping people

I don’t agree. It causes more confusion when you do what you did with the OPs post. You offered no help, just wasted his and everyone’s else time. Have a good evening

The problem regarding this is far beyond this site as an example this handout from Jomtien for an Extension of Stay last month.

I wouldn't believe anyone that says this. It's a firm requirement for that type of visa.
