I need to apply for a multiple entry non-O visa, taking care of my Thai children. Is there still a consulate nearby that doesn't ask for this 400k Thai bank statement?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry concerns applying for a multiple entry Non-O visa for taking care of Thai children without the required 400,000 THB bank statement. Responses suggest that there are no available consulates that will issue a multiple entry Non-O visa without this financial proof. Some users recommend applying for a single entry visa first and later obtaining a multiple re-entry permit, while others suggest checking consulates in Jakarta or Yangon. One user shares that they successfully obtained a multiple entry Non-O visa under different circumstances and advises contacting embassies directly for confirmation on specific requirements.

I recently got a 12 month multiple Non-O based on foreign spouse with an investment visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon. The financial requirement was the equivalent of 2,000,000 Myanmar kyats in any bank account. That’s around $950 at the official CBM rate. You could email them to ask if they issue the visa for a parent of a Thai child. They’ve replied to me in the past. It’s best to ask them if they can confirm with the Thai national who approves the visas because the local staff don’t always know.

Just apply for a single entry...then later, you can get a 'multiple re-entry' permit at Immigration.

doesn't work that way Jim 😕 A single entry Non-O visa is good for ONE 90 day entry stamp when you enter the country on it. Getting a re-entry permit doesn't ADD to that 90 days

You have to BUY the visa as a multi-entry to get unlimited 90 day entries out of it for the year the visa is valid for

Sorry...I assumed the author was applying to a consulate for a 12 month visa, from the 'multiple entry' reference. Obviously, for a 90 day visa, re-entry permits wouldn't apply.

they are indeed wanting to apply for a year long, multi-entry Non-O visa from a thai consulate (and that visa has the unlimited multiple re-entry built into it for the year the visa is valid for)

No.

No consulate around issues multiple entry Non-O without funds.

I don't think Savannakhet does for being a parent to a Thai child. HCMC is already on eVisa so no more multiple options.

You might want to check Jakarta/Yangon to see if they do multiple-entry Non-O based on a Thai child.

Only single entry and at savannakhet

and you don’t have to provide a bank statement showing 400,000 thb is that right?
