Hi all! My Non 'O' Thai child visa expires end of October. I am in Chiang Mai and was told over the phone if I could show 40K per month from an overseas bank for the past year, I don't have to show the 400K. Just got back from immigration and have been told that it can't be done that way. Have to show the 400K. Has anyone had any recent experience with this? Thanks in advance..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the financial documentation required for renewing a Non 'O' Thai child visa. They were informed by an immigration officer that showing a consistent overseas bank statement of 40K baht per month could suffice, but were later told they must present a total of 400K baht. The user is looking for recent experiences from others regarding these requirements.

Who did you talk to at the immigration office? Was that an immigration officer, OR was that a volunteer/ office clerk?

It was the office clerk on the main desk. Cheers

Talk to an immigration officer. You should have no problem using the income method, AS LONG AS you have the 40K THB deposited each month in a Thai bank.

Cheers, I've had over 60K a month going into a Thai bank for at least the past 3 years, so will give it another go next week. ๐Ÿ‘

you need a print out from the bank showing the international transfers each month every month for the previous 12 months that are at least 40K baht AND you need the regular bank letter from the bank that lists your account number, your name and the balance of the account on the date you got the letter AND you need to update your bank book on the date you apply.

Some banks can print a year's worth of international incoming transfers separately BUT some cannot and in that case you need a printed stamped copy of ALL the transaction history for the previous 12 months. You should highlight the incoming transfers for them if you have to get that.
