Did the visa exemption get changed from 30 to 45 days? Thought it was scheduled to change. My trip next month has me staying for 31 days.

Should I extend for 30 days once there orders take the fine for 1 day overstay? Been many times but not for over 2 years & never overstayed before.

Thanks for any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The visa exemption period in Thailand has not changed from 30 days to 45 days. Travelers should be aware that if they plan to stay longer than 30 days, they will need to extend their stay once in Thailand or risk a fine for overstaying. A one-day overstay is generally not a significant issue, but it's advisable to avoid it if possible, as it may lead to complications with future entries.

Consider paying bt1900 for another 30 days, or bt500 for one day overstay. Also, an overstay stamp means nothing in relation to you be accepted to enter again.

30 days means 30 days unless extended.

A one day overstay has no ill effect on you.

I've had one in the past with no issues.

No, it hasn't changed and isn't going to change. Ignore any article you read that says "proposal" because they don't happen.

It's just clickbait
