Hello everyone, I am going to enter Thailand with visa exemption (on French passport) in early September for a total of about 40 days. The extension of visa exemptions from stays of 30 days to 45 days ends September 31. I'll be leaving in October. Do I need to extend my visa while I'm there? Beforehand? Do I need to at all?

Thanks very much for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you enter Thailand using a visa exemption before September 30, 2021, you will be stamped in for 45 days. You can extend your stay for an additional 30 days at the immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht, but it is not necessary to extend your visa if you plan to leave before your initial stay period ends.

IF you come in on a vida exempt entry <-meaning you aren't going to buy a visa from a thai consulate before you come here AND as long as you enter before the 30th of Sept you will get stamped in for 45 days. You can extend that ONCE for 30 days for 1900baht at the immigration office where you stay.
