TLDR : Answer Summary
UK passport holders do not require a visa for stays of up to 15 days in Vietnam. For Cambodia, a visa can be obtained upon arrival for about $30.

15 days visa exemption for UK nationals. Vietnam immigration much probably will want to see an onward ticket/flight itinerary

UK passport holders can enter Vietnam for 15 days without a visa. Cambodia you need to buy a visa at the border. I think it's $15.

No visa needed for Vietnam and the last time we went to Cambodia it was visa on arrival for UK passports

British Nationals can enter Vietnam for up to 15 days for tourism, transit and business (but not paid or voluntary work) without needing to apply for a visa

For Cambodia tourist visas can be applied for online or obtained on arrival

Yes you do for Vietnam. There are services who can get it to you in 24 hours, as it normally takes 3 to 5 days. Search on the internet.
