Looking for some advice and hopefully not to much abuse, left Thailand on the 27th 4 days before my 30 days were up and went to Vietnam and have my flight back to the UK booked from Hanoi on the 9th of January cause I thought I’d stay but to cut a long story short didn’t like it so have decided to fly back to chiang Mai today I know I want have any problem coming back into Thailand but my question is, will I be ok to enter back into Vietnam for my flight home or is there some sort of limitations on how many times you can enter the country with in a certain time even though I could prove I’ve got a flight out the country a matter of hours later, hope you guys can help I understand it’s nothing to do with the Thai visa side of thing but there’s a few people in here with a wave of information and advice, sorry for the long post just tanned two litres of beer 🍺🍺

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about re-entering Vietnam after traveling from Thailand, seeking clarity on potential limitations for UK citizens. Responses indicate that UK passport holders can enter Vietnam for 45 days visa-exempt without limitations on days outside Vietnam before returning. However, concerns about potential re-entry limitations and the need for a multiple entry visa were noted, along with suggestions to consult official sources and specialized groups for comprehensive advice.

For US Citizens getting into Vietnam requires some time and paperwork. Probably different for UK Citizens.

Why do you prefer Thailand to Vietnam?

Why do you ask a Vietnam immigration related question on a Thailand group? There are a few FB Vietnam dedicated only to visa questions. That said, there's a cottage industry targeting tens of thousands of expats living in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh who do regular border runs. I wouldn't worry.

No limitations so far

I have Russians friends of mine living one year and a half on tourist visas in Vietnam, and there are many people like that from other countries too

Cheers

You need multiple entry visa for Vietnam

Assuming you have a British passport then you can enter 45 days visa exempt. No limitation on days outside before returning.

How do I bounce from jomtien? Easily?

There is a limitation on how soon you can re-enter. Check the UK website for Vietnam entry requirements. It might be better to fly down to Hoi An which is so nice.

If you transfer from an international flight to a domestic one in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, you must go through immigration and enter Vietnam. You must do this even if your final destination is outside Vietnam. This is also taken from the website

Ive just read the website again and can't see the reference of multiple entries using visa exempt so it may have changed when they changed it from 15 to 45 days. Regarding Hoi An I was meaning going there instead of Chiang Mai if borders were a problem.

The only thing I can see is something about leaving before 10days of entering and you can enter again but I’m not sure if that refers to visa holders or visa exempt, I’m currently sitting on the plane waiting to taxi 😂 I’m hoping that if I can prove I’m leaving the same day it will be ok almost like a transit stop if you like

Well you will find out when you try. Im sure transiting will be okay but don't hold me to that.... Good luck
