I renewed my passport but did not transfer my current Visa (spouse) stamped on old passport. Do I have to transfer Visa to my new passport in order to do a 90-day report?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To perform a 90-day report after renewing your passport, you must transfer your spouse visa from your old passport to the new one. Bring both passports to the immigration office, along with a request for the transfer. You cannot register your 90-day stay without completing this transfer.

dunno what you mean that it's 2 buildings.

in Bangkok the main immigration office at the government complex building B on Chaengwattana road is where you go to get the stamps moved to the new passport AND to file a 90 day report.

It's two different counters or sections in the immigration office but it's at the same place

You wanna go here and the immigration office looks like THIS

^ That is Building B of the government complex

@Benjamin ****
no, the main immigration office is IN Building B of the Government Complex right after you go in the south entrance of that building

Building B is the GIANT upside down pyramid building that houses MANY governmental offices .

There are two buildings (Building A which you don't want and Building B which you DO want) ๐Ÿ™‚

Your old passport is invalid to use, you need to use your new passport and fill in the number on the notification form. You need to transfer the stamps before you can register your 90 days of stay.

In Chiang Mai u don't need the letter

If you are doing 90 day reports I reckon you have an extension not a visa. take both passports and the letter asking immigration to transfer when you do your 90 days and they will do it then.

Yes my bad. I have the extension. I also have a certified letter from the embassy asking immigration to transfer the visa. But the letter is 2 months old. Will Th immigration accept it?

Thanks. Can I do the transfer and the 90 day in the same building? I understand there are 2 buildings - one for visas and one for 90 day.

@Benjamin ****
, they would accept without any problem, but you may or may not be told that you should have done the transfer immediately.

You have to go to the immigration office to report your 90 days with your new passport number in person anyway.
