I just renewed my passport at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. I have a Retirement Visa and multi entry stamp in the old passport, which I still have on hand. I plan to present both old and new passport to the immigration officer to get stamped out of the country. Question is whether the existing, valid Retirement Visa and multiple entry stamp will be transferred to the new passport on the day of departure by Immigration? I have a sinking feeling in my stomach that I will need to visit Chaengwattana to sort it out, prior to flying. Incidentally, I will exit via Suvarnabhumi before having to renew my current 90 Day Report, so that doesn't present any issues. Much appreciated to those who can offer their solid experience here. Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about whether their valid Retirement Visa and multi entry stamp will be transferred to their new passport upon exiting Thailand after renewing their passport at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. Comments from other users indicate that airport immigration will not transfer the stamps; the necessary process must be completed at the immigration office that issued the original stamps, with many advising the user to be prepared to go to Chaengwattana Immigration to get their stamps transferred. However, one user shared a positive experience stating they just needed to present both old and new passports without additional action required.

Final wash up. I submitted passports today and discovered in addition to copies of the aforementioned pages in one's passports, that you need to also take a bank statement from the date of the last visa renewal to the date of the transferring of stamps. That process done, you need to get your multi entry visa transfered (though that depends on which Immigration office/airport issued it) Hope that this is helpful
I have received three new passports from the embassy. Then when I received them I won't to Immigration and they put the stamp on the new passport. you do not have to leave.
The only problem I can possibly forsee is that the next online 90 Day Report may be rejected (though I imagine the new passport will be entered into the system upon arrival + the TM30 will reflect the new passport number, as well) π€
You really talk about a local requirement. Bank statement to transfer a visa stamp is not a common requirement. And for me i not have any money for visa purposes on a Thai bank.
