Hi,

I am a South African living here in Thailand. When I collect my new passport from the embassy, do I have to transfer my visa on the same day as collection? Or can I do it the following day, but still within 24 hours from the time of collection?

Thanks in advance for any responses. :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about transferring their visa from an old passport to a new one after collecting it from the embassy in Thailand. The responses clarified that a visa cannot be transferred to a new passport; instead, the user must keep both passports until the visa in the old passport expires. Additionally, it was confirmed that the user could wait until the next day to handle any necessary visa-related paperwork.

Pretty sure you can do it the next day.

You can not transfer a visa (sticker in a passport) to a new passport. You use both passport till the end of this visa.

You can do this the following day or even a day later. Some people do it when they visit for their 90 days report. As long as you do it before your last day it is no problem

That is correct. So in referrence to my original question, do I have to do the transfer on the same day as collection?

So you have an Extension of Stay permitted up to ../../... Than yes, you have to transfer this stamp to your new passport.
