Hello. I have visa, passport and 90-day-report questions related to my new passport.
I have a non-B visa through my employer. My contract ends on March 31st and I am flying back to the USA to visit my parents on April 4th. The employer has agreed to cancel the non-B and work permit on that date. I will return on a tourist visa later in April.
The wrinkle is that I got a new passport recently (pages were almost full in the previous one). I received a letter with the passport asking Immigration to transfer the non-B stamp to the new passport. Will I even need to do this? Or is it an administrative requirement to transfer the stamp and then cancel it?
The employer is giving me an official cancellation letter today, but we are wondering whether or not that is necessary either. In any case I just don't want there to be any problems when I return.
The second question is about the 90-day report. My employer used to do this for me, but since I got a new passport she says that I have to make a special trip to Immigration to file there instead of doing it online.
So again, the question is: Do I even need to do this since I'm leaving on April 4th? I had traveled to Vietnam and returned on January 1, 2019, so there would indeed be 4 days extra days 'unreported'.
Your advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether it is necessary to transfer their non-B visa stamp to a new passport before cancelling it, and also inquiring about the process of completing their 90-day report considering they will be leaving Thailand soon. Responses suggest that transferring the stamp is advisable and that the user should also file the 90-day report before departing.
