TLDR : Answer Summary
To transfer your retirement visa to your new German passport, take both your old and new passports to the immigration office that issued your visa extension. It is advisable to have copies of every page from your old passport. The process typically involves a short wait of about 20-30 minutes, during which your new passport will be stamped with your current visa extension. It may also be helpful to present a letter from your embassy verifying the new passport, although it's not mandatory.

They like copies of every page in your old passport. In your new passport the first stamp they put in it is a reference number to your immigration database file, that will include all the copies of your old passport, and everything else about you. Then they stamp your new passport with your current visa extension stamp. It all takes about 20-30 minutes. When you got your new passport you also should have gotten a letter from your embassy to give to immigration verifying the new passport. This letter is not required, but is very helpful for them.

The German Embassy Bangkok no longer issues certificates of a new passport. (from March 2023) Does anyone know the content of the certificate (wording.what is literally certified.the content) could then ask in Germany.

if the embassy doesn't issue them then it is not required by immigration to transfer stamps. All the letter is is on embassy letterhead stating that your old passport number is replaced with the new passport number for you.

Take both passports to the office that issued your extension. They can transfer the stamp over.

How could there be a problem? Passport expiration or becoming full is just a fact of life. Eventually, all of us will have to deal with this unless we happen to leave Thailand around the time our passports expire, get a new passport abroad and apply for a new Thai visa then start the extension process afresh once we return. However, this could be considered a "broken extension" for the purposes of applying for permanent residency if one wants to down that path.

Are there no problems because the old passport was invalidated when receiving a new passport????

@Rudi ******
No because all the paper work required has been done before and a new stamp just needs to be put into new passport.

Usually no. Each office tends to have its own procedures though so no guarantees.
