Hey, I’ve been getting conflicting answers to this, so I wanted to get this group's consensus.

I need to travel back to the states for about a month in September, and I have a married-to Thai citizen visa. The problem is that I am out of pages and would need a new passport before leaving.

Would my marriage visa transfer to the new passport? If not, could I simply carry both passports when I return to Thailand?

I hope I wouldn’t need to go through the process of getting a new visa, as I just got this in February.

Sorry if this question is dumb; I’m just having a hard time finding an answer to this specific case.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking clarification on whether their marriage visa to a Thai citizen will transfer to a new passport after they obtain one due to lack of pages. They are concerned about traveling to the States for a month and returning to Thailand without needing to reapply for a visa, as they had recently obtained it. Community responses indicate that the user can transfer their visa and re-entry permits to their new passport at the local immigration office.

BUT as this is the thai VISA advice group and getting a new passport is NOT a visa question we are done, good luck to the O/P.

You apply for a new passport thru the ACS (American Citizens Services) website (some can do the renewal by mail, but some have to go in person)

Once you get the new passport, you take it, the old one, the letter that comes with the new one from the US embassy and go to your immigration office where you got the extension and get the stamps transferred to the new passport. They will move the currently valid extension (and any re-entry permits) to the new passport and then you just use it when you travel

This tells you how to renew an adult passport from the US in thailand
