TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your passport in the UK, your Thai non-O visa will not be directly transferred to the new passport. Instead, you should carry both your old and new passports when returning to Thailand. The old passport will need to be presented for the visa to get stamped on the new passport at the Thai Immigration office. It's advisable to check that the UK gives you a request form for Thai Immigration to ensure smooth processing.

Not for me (french passport) I had to get a new passport in france so when I came back here I went to immigration and they transfer the visa with explanation all in thai. It takes one full page for that.

It's painless compare to other process here.

Ok, you look like a specialist. I am not😀

So after they transfer the xtension, I only need the recent passport with the visa/extension "stamp" on it.

they did NOT transfer a visa, visas are NOT transferred, only extensions of stay.

They won't transfer the visa. You show the old passport and get stamped in on the new passport if your getting a new passport in the UK.

You'll need to carry the old passport all the time the visa is valid. Visas are never transferred. Only entry stamps, extensions of stay and reentry permits are transferred

I believe it can be transferred upon your return to Thailand at your Thai Immigration office. Carry both passports with you. And UK should give you a form letter requesting Thai Immigration transfer and accept your new passport. If request letter not given then I think you will need to obtain it from UK Embassy Bangkok.
