Hi.. we will be arriving in Chiang Mai tomorrow and do we need to submit TM30 immediately upon arrival?! Where do we go to do that and how much time do we have to do that ? Can we do that online?! What’s the steps and which website?

We were told by Thai embassy in Hong Kong that we have 90 days to report to immigration to activate our retirement visa ( at the same time to show them our health insurance)

Look forward to hearing your advice. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
Upon your arrival in Chiang Mai, you are required to submit the TM30 form within 24 hours if you are staying in your own house or condo. Since you are a homeowner, you will need to file this form at the local immigration office. You can do this in person at the immigration office near the airport in Chiang Mai, and it can typically be done seven days a week. In addition to the TM30 filing, you also need to report your presence to immigration to activate your retirement visa within 90 days of arrival. For online registration as homeowners, it is advisable to consult the official immigration website for steps and guidance.

You are confusing TWO separate things but FIRST lemme give you some sage advice;

NEVER EVER trust a worker at a thai consulate OUTSIDE the country about any immigration related stuff inside the country.

AND

NEVER EVER trust a worker at the immigration office INSIDE the country about any visa related stuff outside the country.

They are two completely different governmental agencies that rarely talk to each other.

As people correctly told you; you are obligated to file a TM30 within 24 hours of arriving at your residence, and seeing as you're in Chiang Mai you can do it 7 days a week at the immigration office by the airport.

Now after that once you're in country 90 days you need to file a 90 day report. Which has NOTHING to do with filing a TM30 within 24 hours..

Dear Experts... yes... we are home owners and will be staying at our house. No, I have not registered online as home owners.

We both have multiple entry OA ( retirement) visa.

I will be flying back to hk on 11 nov for two weeks or so.

When do both of us go to immigration to do that ?! Here I guess it’s 2 things - TM30 and also to tell immigration of our presence in CM ( told by embassy in hk that we have 90 days to do this)

We do I register for the online registration as home owners

Christine Teo TM30...file within 24 hours at Chiang Mai Immigration. They are open all 7 days to file.

You DO NOT have a grace period to file the TM30...FILE IT TODAY

And AGAIN when you return from Hong Kong.

Good Luck...Commenting closed

Unless you stay in a hotel, you need to file TM30

Are you a house owner and moving into your own house or condo? Did you register yourself as house owners for the on line registration? You do not activate a visa, it is a sticker in your passport and does nothing more than just being a sticker. Depending on your kind of Visa you get an Admitted to Stay period at arrival from the Immigration Checkpoint on the airport.
