TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, Chiang Mai immigration requires you to file an updated TM 30 upon returning from abroad, even if you are returning to the same address. The process can be completed online and is usually quick, taking just a minute. Alternatively, you can visit the main immigration office in Chiang Mai with your passport and the previous TM 30 slip to update your information.

Yes. Just go in and ask to update. All you need is your passport and your old tm30 slip. Only done at the main office near the airport…behind the drive up 90 day report window. Not done at Central Festival. Takes five minutes

Just do it online. Takes all of about one minute. I do it even if I'm going to a different province for a night

Last I heard for Chiang Mai, yes you need to report again after returning from abroad.

From what i know CM immigration wants you to file a new TM30. Eventhough you return to your previous reported adress.

thank you. It's always BEST to file a TM30, especially if returning to Thailand.

What kind of Thai Visa do you have ?

Are you returning to the same address as currently on file with the TM30?

You can use the online TM30 report system. IF you are staying in a private residence you have rented or own.

I have placed the TOPIC of the TM30 and the Chiang Mai Thai Immigration office on your post.

CLICK on them and all posts about the topics will pop up to read.
