TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you need to report your TM30 after returning to Thailand, and you have a total of 7 days to do so. While it is suggested to complete the reporting within 24 hours, many expats have noted that the process at Chiang Mai immigration is quick and efficient, taking hardly any time at all. It is possible to begin this process at the airport upon arrival, which some find more convenient than going into the city the following day.
ok thanks. The old Immigration office was ( is) near the airport but on arrival it's a hassle to get to it as it's near but not at the airport- hopeless to try and park there.
The old immigration office used to be there before they moved it to Promenada Mall. I don't know if you can file TM.30 forms there or not. I'd post your question in a Chiang Mai related group.
why can't you do it the day you arrive? Do you mean the old immigration building where we went before we moved to Promenada? If that's the case Promenada is easier with better parking. I just wanted to do it on arrival.
Justin I just did mine at immigration at the airport. Building number three. No queue, no other people waiting. I'd go and ask the staff there. They seemed very friendly, I'm sure they can help you sort it out easily.
Damn.. it was in Chiang Mai. Any guidance on what documents I would need would be gratefully appreciated. I remember I had my real estate agent him me with it but she’s not around anymore 😕
you need the same documentation you needed when you first filed the TM.30. That's going to depend on what office you filed it at and what documents they required from the owner of the property.
