I’m moving from Suratthani to Chiang Mai. Do I need to inform immigration about change of address the day I arrive there or do I wait till I do my 90 day report to tell them?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When moving to a new location in Thailand, you are required to inform immigration about your change of address using a TM28 form within 24 hours of arrival. Some immigration offices may also require submission of a new TM30 form. It's advisable to report your change promptly to avoid potential fines, as there can be penalties for not reporting your address change on time.
90 DAY REPORTING RESOURCES / SERVICES

I suggest you go to immigration at promenada (2nd floor) within 24hrs of your arrival. Even with a metv, I got fined 1600baht for not reporting my stay at a friends house!
, I went there to register new address, as my wife and I moved to CM permanantly. Officer told me to take note of each hotel I stay in, and also take pictures to prove it!!!!...she must have had a bad hair day that day!
Official you need to inform them within the 24 hours with a TM28 form (change of address), some Immigration offices also want a new TM30 form.

They guesthouse has to report you with Immigration, so you can wait till you find a more permanent address and than change your address.

I will be staying in a guesthouse for a few days until I find somewhere to live. Do I need to tell them I’m staying at a guesthouse or do I wait till I find a more permanent address.
