Do I need to file a TM30 after returning to the same address in Chiang Mai with a Non-Immigrant O Retirement visa?

Looking for clarification on the current TM30 situation. I have an Non-Immigrant O Retirement visa.

I've just returned to Chiang Mai after a few months in the UK. I am still at the same previously registered address in Chiang Mai.

Do I need still need to complete a TM30? And if so how quickly?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The current understanding regarding the TM30 form in Chiang Mai indicates that many have successfully filed a TM30 upon returning to Thailand after being abroad, even when returning to the same address. However, recent experiences suggest that immigration officials now require a new TM30 to be filed upon arrival, regardless of prior filings or duration of absence. It is advisable to check directly with the local immigration office for the latest requirements and ensure compliance upon return to avoid any issues.

Folk's it's apparent that we have several replies which say there's NO need to submit a TM 30 upon return to Thailand at the same address...

However it appears that Chiang Mai DOES NOW REQUIRE a new TM 30 be filed when returning to Thailand.

Suggest you file a new TM 30 when you return to Thailand.

"I went to CM Immigration recently.. with the same dilemma after returning from an overseas trip.. they told me that it WAS necessary to file a new TM30 even though i was returning to the same address after only a 2-week break.. though they did not complete any new forms or take any payment.. they simply updated the computer and tippex/ed out the date on my existing acknowledgement slip.. then wrote the new date on it.. was in the office (aka cabin in rear car park) all of 5 minutes!"

"I just experienced this exact scenario today in CM. They required a current TM30 even though I had one dated from late April. It hasn't been the case in the past...so I had to leave and get another issued by my landlord. Best be safe than to lose a day at immigration."

Just returned from Chiang Mai. I just take in my previous TM30 receipt and they update their system and they give me new TM30 receipt. Stay at same address. No other paperwork required. However, I have not asked the direct question, namely, do I need to update TM30 upon each arrival.

I've been out of the country and returned with a TM30 filed in 2019 and I've asked Chiang Mai Immigration in person if I had to refile and they said no and I've never had any issues with it. Others have been told by CM Immigration that they don't need to either.

Suggest you ask your Thai Immigration office for their requirements for the TM30 filing. It may have changed. The report is to be filed within 24 hours of your arrival into your home address.
