TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the proper procedure for reporting their address while on an OA visa in Thailand. After staying in Pattaya and Chiang Mai, they were advised to report in Chiang Rai due to their partner's address, although they live near both locations. The conversation provides insights on TM30 reporting responsibilities and options for reporting either at immigration or a local police station.

I'm going to shut this down, since I'm getting the feeling the post is getting off topic.

1. IF this question is about the TM30:

a. Where you're staying MUST be report no later then 24 business hours after you start staying in a specific location. IF you're staying in Chiang Mai, you report to Chiang Mai. If you stay in Chiang Rai, you report in Chiang Rai.

b. If you're staying in a hotel, the hotel is responsible for reporting you.

c. If you're staying at a condo or a house, it's the property owners' responsibility to report you. IF you are not reported, you may be fined UP TO 2K THB.

d. Each immigration office has their own policy about TM30 filing. Some want it filed as soon as you return to the property, others want it filed ONLY when you first arrive to Thailand. ASK YOUR LOCAL IMMIGRATION OFFICE.

If I got this question wrong, or there's other information to add, please send a mod a message and we'll reopen the post.

If you live hotel, they should report you. If not they can get a fine too. 🧐

If you live Chiang Rai, have your address there/live there you need go there. As I know, but sometimes Thailand surprise me. 😁

But it's not about your girlfriend paperwork where you live, she live there, and if you live other, you not need report there.

I read the cop station is used when far from an immi station, but even though is law they dont like it and will act like you dont know what your talking about...

The accomodation where you are staying, will (or should), report your address to immigration. TM30 i think. As an example, i live in Pattaya, but went to Kamphaeng Phet for 3 months, and the room owner notified immigration i was staying there, as its their duty to do so.

And once you return to Pattaya, did you report back to immigration?
