Can I report my stay to a police station for TM30 notification or must I go to Immigration?

Good morning to you all. When I went to Immigration I was told I need to let them know within 24 hours where I’m staying. I went to get the 30 day extension of my TR 60. This was my first go at this and the Immigration were very understanding. My question is next time I come on TR visa can I report to a police station or Must go to Immigration. I’m renting a Condo and lease is in my girlfriends name. TIA

Your girlfriend as the “House Master” has a duty to register a TM30 report within 24 hours of each arrival. She can do this online and you can take a screen print of the registration to immigration. They need the code for the address (allocated when you register), so make sure that the page that you print contains that.

That is Section 38 (Form is TM30) "NOTIFICATION FROM FOR HOUSE-MASTER, OWNER OR THE POSSESSOR OF THE RESIDENCE WHERE ALIEN HAS STAYED"

Most likely you go to the immigration office to submit the report, since only a few provinces allow the report at local police stations.

Or your landlord (or girlfriend) can do it online.
