For AMERICANS, are we supposed to have the flight, the ASQ hotel, and the covid insurance booked before we can submit an application for the TR Visa and the COE? The only application is not letting me submit it without those documents. 🤔 Thank you

Update:

The reply I received from thaiembdc.org said:

YES, flight confirmation and insurance are required before applying for visa/COE.

I believe the ASQ can wait until after visa, but before COE, but not 100% on this.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Americans applying for the TR Visa and Certificate of Entry (COE) in Thailand are required to have confirmed flight details, insurance for COVID-19, and, although not definitively required before the COE submission, it's advisable to have an ASQ hotel confirmed as well. The application process appears to necessitate proof of these accommodations before proceeding, but some users reported varying experiences regarding the order of these requirements.

were you able to get an answer from the embassy? I’m an American also and can’t get through the visa application without showing proof of payment for everything either, even though others have said you don’t have to

@George ********
same! I don’t know either. So you had to book your flight and ASQ beforehand? Anything else I need before applying? And then after it’s approved you apply for the COE? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for literally any help. I am so lost with all this!

I feel the same as you and have spent hours looking into this. It seems like first step is to message the hotel you want and find out if it's available, and find out refund or rescheduling policies in case your date changes, and then book your flight, then proceed with the insurance and fill out the visa /coe

I submitted everything and already got the embassy email requesting I submit all documents to the embassy that’s done also

Our Visa was a little different than yours we did the OA retirement but if they're requesting proof of payment then I would think yours has been approved

@Kathy ***************
OK, yea I think that's what they want also. Just strange to book a trip without approval!
Kathy ****************
@Co***
we didn't have to pay for anything until we got approval.. Then when we resubmitted original paperwork and filed out for COE we had to have receipts..
Kathy ****************
Have you gotten confirmation of approval back yet

it won't let me send anything yet, so I'm waiting on a response from the embassy

You fill out the application first online then you submit a itinerary for flight and possible asq once that is approved they will request your original documents you will send those in then they will approve those at that time you will submit your airline, asq, and insurance receipts then they will issue you a COE
