Am getting very confused. We have our visas and flight tickets. Now we need our COE. Do we pay for our Sha+ hotel then apply for CoE. Is there anything else needed

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Certificate of Entry (CoE) to Thailand, you first need to book a SHA+ certified hotel and secure your COVID-19 tests. The CoE application is a two-stage process. Initially, you must upload your passport, visa, vaccine certificate, and proof of COVID-19 insurance along with any supporting documents requested by your local Thai embassy. Upon pre-approval, you'll have 15 days to submit your flight and hotel booking confirmations, and arrange a COVID-19 PCR test, ensuring results are received within 72 hours prior to entering Thailand. It's critical to carry printed copies of all documents when you travel.

Done it all today got approved in 8 hrs from London
My hotel allowed me to have in writing that if I was rejected for my COE or wanted a refund for any reason (I think it was four days) before the booking I could get a refundZ

Oh, absolutely, Jackie! Right now it's simply a matter of getting enough cash saved for the trip--AND Thailand FULLY opening up to outsiders--I'd rather fly directly into CNX or via Bangkok as opposed to getting stuck on Phuket for two weeks! :-)
You have my full backing on THAT one! I haven't been back to Thailand since I flew out of Suvarnabhumi in early February of 2018 so each day stuck in Farangland only gets worse in THAT regard!
take a chance. If your double jabbed your just the same risk U.K. or thailand

I have few friends in your situation. The big headline “Thailand Reopening without quarantine” is very very misleading. They thought that they can just book flight+hotel like pre-covid before. They didn’t know the many stressful hoops and the big bills to visit Thailand.
And the gov have not decided yet, how and when. October 15th is a long way away

CoE is a two stage process. For stage 1 you will need to upload passport, visa, vaccine certificate (because you mention SHA rather than ASQ I’m assuming that you’re vaccinated?) and Covid insurance cover together with any other supporting documents required by your local RTE (eg bank statement - RTE London didn’t ask for this at stage 1 but am aware that some US RTEs do) this is considered and all going well pre-approval is granted. You then have 15 days to upload your flight and hotel booking confirmation. Then book your Covid PCR test so that your results are received within 72 hours of arrival in Thailand. You will need paper copies of everything at your departure airport so make sure you print it all off and have to hand at the airport. Hope this helps!
perfectly explained. I recently tried to explain the process to a friend and used about four times the words and left him as confused as when he started. 👍👍
it is but take it in stages and it feels more doable! We went through it ourselves in Jan and am doing it again for my parents to come visit us in a couple of weeks - painful but worth it!
you will need 1 in UK before you depart (results within 72 hours of entry to Thailand). You will most likely have 3 on arrival (over 2 weeks) here depending on your quarantine arrangements but the cost of these should be baked into your quarantine/SHA package …
Thailand SHA Plus refers to the certification issued by Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration and their "Sandbox program".
Phuket Sandbox started officially, vaccinated travelers can arrive directly to Phuket, and stay there without quarantine starting from July 1st. All vaccinated tourist must stay 15 days in one of the SHA Plus certified hotels, where at least 70% of the staff have been vaccinated.
