Hi everyone,

to apply for a DTV visa from Vietnam (that is not my home country), do I have to go to the embassy personally or can I apply online?

Thank you very much

Answer summary

To apply for a DTV visa from Vietnam, you must schedule an appointment to submit your application and required documents in person at the embassy, as Vietnam currently does not have an e-visa system in place. Although there are plans to introduce e-visas in October, the current procedure requires a physical application submission.

You need to be in Vietnam to apply.

You must first schedule an appointment and then provide the application, documents & money at that time.

Edited: I just read that the Vietnam will start the e-visa system (which is all online) starting in October but the turn around time will be much longer...

You apply online but claim it in embassy as I understand

not correct, you apply for an appointment to get IN THE GATE online, you apply in person, you wait the processing time, you go back in person to get the passport back with the visa in it
