TLDR : Answer Summary
UK citizens seeking to apply for a DTV visa in Southeast Asia have options in Laos, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Procedures vary by location; for example, applications in Vientiane and Hanoi require prior appointments via an online system, while Jakarta allows walk-ins without appointments. It is often recommended to apply in the country where the documents were issued to increase approval chances. Direct assistance from individuals experienced in visa applications is available.

Better chancer to get documents approved in the country they are issued, since the Embassy knows which documents are common there.

Vientiane/Savannakhet you need to book an appt with the online system to get IN the gate.

Hanoi/HCMC you need to book an appt with the online system to get IN the gate.

Jakarta is a walk up consulate, (there is no consulate in Bali anymore) you don't need an appt to get in the gate to apply

Best embassies in SEA generally seem to be:

Saigon

Vientiane

Jakarta

Taipei

Vientiane isn't the best. They have strict policies on how long funds need to be deposited for and aren't helpful via email though they do respond to Facebook messages.

Yes I am asking if there are any UK citizens specifically because on the embassy websites it states that in some cases different documents would be needed from different nationalities.

I don’t think that embassies are changing rules based on your country. Unless your country would be somehow completely out of the list of countries available for the visa.

The rules are just changed a bit based on where you apply.

There are posts from UK DTV holders. You can search the threads. They supply the same docs as requested. If you are from countries that are generally not visa free on arrival, then additional docs can be requested
